2025 has been a progressive year for independent label group “Piano City” as they return with their third single of the year titled “Amalanga” with Private School Piano pioneer, Kelvin Momo, uprising stars Thatohatsi, Tracy & PYY Log Drum King alongside global superstar duo, Major League DJz. This follows their super dynamic release titled “Impilo Emnandi” which featured the likes of Nkosazana Daughter, Naledi Aphiwe & Royce77.

“Amalanga” opens up with a smooth and warm feel as Thatohatsi & Tracy unite to soothe our ears with a touching pre-chorus that is then extended by Thatohatsi’s verse in which she reminisces on the impact of over-extending herself in a relationship, which eventually led to her hurting. This is a situation that many have found themselves in, where their efforts aren’t being reciprocated or appreciated, but an outsider’s efforts are being valued at the very end.

Thatohatsi then reunites with Tracy to execute a well-written chorus that touches on a story of a heartbreaker that doesn’t appreciate their partner if anything, they seem to be on and off, on certain days as they love multiple people at once which does not only lead to confusion but then also heartbreak towards their longtime lover who has not only sacraficed with their time but then gave their all emotionally and mentally only for someone to not even see them at the very end.

The chorus serves as a reminder that ‘not all days are the same’ and that one day their ways will catch up with them at the very end, so do be intentional with everything that you do, especially when it includes a partner. Tracy then extends the song with her verse as she welcomes us with her euphonious voice. She touches on the values she learnt from her family and just life as a whole on how to love and go all out for your partner, only for that to be ruined by one man who cannot seem to appreciate what a warm home feels like and a peaceful love more than anything. She then reflects on the relationship and expresses her regrets as she reaffirms herself that one day she will find that one person who will love her the way she deserves to be loved, and vice versa.
